Although we arrived at the same summit, the scenery and feeling were very different for each course.

🌲 Otter Hole Course (August)
- course: Green Trail → Red/Blue Trail → Wyanokie High Point
- time taken: About 3 hours and 30 minutes (skip the waterfall area due to drought and take a detour)
The Otter course is better than the Weis Center. It's steep and long, but
The forest was thick and shady, and the cool breeze was nice.
The sound of the wind and 🍂 The sound of fallen leavesIt feels cool in my ears
I could feel the calming energy of the forest with my whole body.
But this summer is a drought Chikahoki Fallswas completely dry
View from near the summit Clyde Potts Reservoirdo
I was worried because the water level was very low.
The thought came to me, "I want it to rain soon so I can see the waterfall flowing again." 🌧️

🪨 Weis Center Course (September)
- course: Follow the Blue Trail to the summit → Loop possible
- time taken: About 2 hours (this is about 20 minutes of rest at the top)
The Weis Center course was easy to walk because it was a gentle slope.
Appearing here and there large rocks Thanks to that, there were many viewpoints.
I saw it in Korea Balanced rock Also see,
I walked among the pine trees, smelling the pine scent.

Then, halfway up the mountain really big mushroomsI found one. 🍄
My mood suddenly improved.
It was as if I had discovered ginseng in the mountains and wanted to shout, “I found it!”
One small discovery doubled the joy of hiking.
🏔️ At the top
As we reached the top, the view was refreshingly clear on all sides.
far Manhattan skylineThis is clearly visible,
Greenwood Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges came into view.
Around the top there is 🦋 Butterflies are flying,
A large bird (which looked like an albatross) was also seen in the distance.
As I sat on the rock and felt the wind, all my fatigue seemed to disappear.
The world below seemed peaceful.

At that moment, suddenly,
Because pine trees and large rocks protect the mountain
It seems like this peace will lastI had a thought.
Rain or shine, storm or drought
They seemed like sturdy guardians silently holding on to this mountain so it wouldn't collapse. 💚

🐾 The story of the lost man and the big dog
When I came down to Otter Hole, I met a man with a very large dog.
I was completely lost and wandering around,
It seemed difficult to call an Uber because there was a large dog.
It was a hot day and the dog was panting with its tongue sticking out 🐶💦
When I saw that sight, I couldn't just pass it by because it reminded me of my cat at home.
Eventually, I put him in the car and drove him to the Weis Center.
It was a really good thing because it was a distance that would take more than two hours to walk.
A few days later, when we came down from Weis Center,
really The fork in the road is quite confusing.I found out.
“Oh, so he didn’t take the wrong path for no reason,” I thought, and understood.
I thought that if we had let our guard down even just a little, we might have come down towards Otter.

❤️ Finishing
Even if you climb the same peak, you can have a completely different experience if you climb it using a different course.
Otter Hole has the charm of a forest adventure,
Weis Center is impressive with its large rock views and cool views.
Next time, I want to try the loop course that leads to Osio Rock.
And after the rain, I want to come back again to see the flowing waterfall and the full reservoir. 🌧️✨
